Barring clemency from Gov. Taft or court intervention, Ferguson will die by lethal injection on Aug. 8.

COLUMBUS | Condemned triple murderer Darrell W. "Gator" Ferguson of Dayton told an Ohio Parole Board member two weeks ago that killing is like having an orgasm, and said if he were ever released from prison he'd get a gun and go on another slaying rampage, prosecutors said Friday.
"He indicated that once he got a taste of blood, he wanted more," assistant Montgomery County prosecutor Daniel J. Brandt told the parole board at Ferguson's clemency hearing.
Barring clemency from Gov. Bob Taft or last-minute court intervention, Ferguson, 28, is to die by lethal injection Aug. 8 for the Christmas 2001 murders of an elderly couple and a disabled man in East Dayton.
Ferguson, who has asked for the death penalty from the beginning, has waived his appeals and presented no case for clemency Friday.
In a May letter to prosecutors, Ferguson said he enjoyed killing Thomas King and Arlie and Mae Fugate on Dec. 25 and 26, 2001, and feels no remorse. "On the contrary, the pleasure that I derived from plunging a knife into each person's torso and chest was inexplicably orgasmic," he wrote. "Reliving the ordeal in my mind is a constant source of pleasure for me."
Ferguson had a Web site on MySpace.com as recently as last month, using the alias "Kill Me B-4 I Kill U." He posted prose and poetry about Satanism, rape and murder.
"If this defendant doesn't deserve the death penalty, I don't know who does," said assistant county prosecutor David Franceschelli. "We're dealing here with a defendant who is just purely evil."
The parole board said it will release its clemency recommendation after sending it to Taft on Thursday.
Ferguson, a drug addict, was on a Christmas furlough from a halfway house when he attacked and robbed a double amputee, then beat, stomped and knifed King and the Fugates, trading stolen items from their homes for crack cocaine. He was acquainted with all his victims. Police arrested him on a tip. Ferguson's laundered clothes bore traces of the victims' blood and his steel-toed work boots matched an imprint in cancer patient Arlie Fugate's face.
Urging the parole board to recommend against clemency, the Fugates' only child emotionally recounted how he had to clean his parents blood from the carpet of their longtime home on Terry Street.
"I had to scrub the blood off the walls, off the TV, off the furniture," said James Cornett, 54. "I view (Ferguson) as being a rabid animal (who) serves no purpose in human society. He's caused enough pain and I don't think he should cause any more."
