More than 5 years ago, after her abduction and murder, jury selection has begun in the case of Bridget Townsend of Bandera.
If the 18-year-old's accused killer, Ramiro Gonzales, is convicted, he could get the death penalty.
Already sentenced to life in a separate case, Gonzales confessed to a case that had grown cold. Gonzales is accused of breaking into a mobile home, abducting and killing Townsend.
"I guess you could say I helped the cops, but I didn't do it for them," said Gonzales. "I did it for myself, for Bridget and her family."
Gonzales finally led authorities to Townsend's skeletal remains soon after he was sentenced to life for raping and abducting a Bandera realtor less than a year after Townsend's murder.
Both women ended up at a ranch owned by the suspect's grandparents, but only one managed to escape with her life.
Unwilling to go on camera, Gonzales' other victim said she would testify at Gonzales' sentencing to demand justice for Townsend.
