StudentEyewitness News The Tennessee Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of a man convicted of killing a University of Memphis student. Leonard Young was convicted of kidnapping and stabbing Hillary Johnson, A U of M grad student, in 1999. Young later confessed to police that he killed Johnson and led authorities to Johnson's body. The court has set a November 2nd execution date for Young. He still has state and federal appeals remaining.
