by Matt McClure GAINESVILLE - Hall County's district attorney confirmed Saturday he will seek the death penalty against the suspect in the murder of a young girl last year. Lee Darragh said he has filed paperwork to seek the death penalty against Cornelio Rivera Zamites, 24. Zamites is accused of kidnapping, molesting, and murdering Esmerelda Nava, 4, in southeast Hall County last June. "The case will be scheduled for a first proceeding before a superior court judge under the unified appeal for the purpose of carrying forth the prosecution," Darragh said. Darragh said Zamites, who was on the run for five days after the incident, faces kidnapping, child molestation and murder charges. "[Seeking the death penalty] is the right thing to do in this case," Darragh said. Source: www.accessnorthga.com/news/hall/newfullstory.asp?ID=104689
