Fmr. Columbia County Sheriff: She's the most evil person I know
"She is a vile and evil person, and may be the most evil person I know,"
says former Columbia County Arkansas Sheriff Terry Bolton.
Bolton has never spoken publicly about his brother's death, until now. He
decided to do so after Tuesday nights exclusive interview surrounding the
arrest of Nenna Bolton, which brought back bad memories for the Bolton
family.
"After your interview with her last night, my family is pretty distressed
that she's trying to use the Bolton name."
In the early 90s, Bolton's brother Larry married Nenna. Within 10 years,
Larry filed for divorce and moved to Nacodoches Texas where he worked as a
sheriffs deputy. It was 6 years ago, that he headed back to southern
Arkansas to finalize some plans.
"He returned to McNeil to pick up his final pay check and some of his
belongings and never left."
Nenna Bolton was charged, tried, and convicted of his murder. She was
sentenced to serve 20 years in prison. She only served 6, and was released
in January, and placed on minimum supervision. As she was led in handcuffs
into the sheriff's office Tuesday night, New 12 reporter David Begnaud
asked Bolton about killing her husband.
"Who did you kill, Nenna," asks David Begnaud. "Well I didn't kill anyone,
she laughed, I acted in self defense," says Bolton.
"David, I've been in law enforcement for over 30 years. When you kill
someone in self defense, you're usually looking at them in the eyes. My
brother was ambushed and shot in the back of the head. I don't call that
self defense, I call that an execution."
In the killing of her husband, the death penalty was not an option, but
now the charge, for allegedly killing her grandfather, is capital murder.
If convicted, Bolton could be sentenced to die.
"I hope that this whole community finally sees her for what she is and
gives her what she deserves."
